Program History
The Albertus Magnus Girls Soccer Program has a rich history of success on the field and in the classroom for over 30 years. During that time the Lady Falcons won 15 Section Championships and 3 State Championships. Most recently, the Lady Falcons won the 2024 Class AA NY State Championship & the 2022 Class A NY State Championship. In each of the last eleven years the Lady Falcons have received the NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Team award which means that over 75% of the roster holds a gpa of over 90. The Lady Falcons have also held a top 25 National Ranking in each of the last 5 years while being ranked as high as #2 in the Country. In 2023, the Lady Falcons traveled to Knoxville Tennessee to compete against then #1 in the Country, Bearden HS which resulted in a 1-1 tie.

Colleges
The success of the teams over the years has everything to do with the history of great players that have played in our program. Every year we graduate players that go on to play collegiate soccer and support them in their journey of finding the right fit.

Colleen Sullivan '95, a captain on the 1994 Class C NY State Championship Team, is the all-time leading goal scorer and leader in total points at Albertus with 81 goals and 191 total points. In the fall of 2024, she became the first lady falcon inducted into the New York State Soccer High School Hall of Fame. Colleen was also an All-Region player during her senior year at Albertus.

Isabel DiPrima '23, the captain of the 2022 Class A NY State Championship Team, is a current Division I player at Elon University. She was named All-Region and Scholar All-American during her senior year at Albertus.

Gabby Chan '24 is the most decorated athlete in the history of Section I soccer. She is the only soccer player in Section I to have ever been named a 3 Time All-American (2021, 2022, 2023). She was also a member of the 2022 Class A NY State Championship Team and is a two-time Rockland County Player of the Year. Gabby is currently playing soccer at Columbia University.

Teigan Cunnane '26 has been named a 2024 All-American and becomes the second in our program history. She is also a two-time State Champion (2022, 2024) and was a Captain on the 2024 Class AA NY State Championship Team. Teigan will continue her soccer career at Auburn University.

Coaches
Coach Danny Samimi, the second longest serving coach in our Program History has amassed a career record of 141-17-14. Entering his tenth season as Head Varsity Coach and having assembled one of the best coaching staffs in the country, the Lady Falcons have won 2 State Championship, 4 Section I Championships and 7 League Championships. Coach Samimi has been named New York State Coach of the Year in 2020, 2022 & 2024, while also being a National Coach of the Year Finalist in 2022 & 2024. He has also been named League Coach of the Year 7 times (2016, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024). He holds a USSF National C Coaching License and a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware.

Coach Samimi and staff have been able to maintain a National Ranking in each of the last 5 seasons by playing top level competition throughout the Country according to United Soccer Coaches and MaxPreps. The 2024 season finished with an undefeated State Championship and seeing the Lady Falcons Ranked Nationally #2 by MaxPreps and #10 by United Soccer Coaches. Over the last seven years the team has traveled to several cities around the country to take on National Opponents including those listed below.
