Edward Fink ‘64 is a retired Structural Engineer. He has been married to Christine (Martin) for 50 years. They have 2 sons, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grand child and 1 on the way. During his retirement, Edward has travelled to Hawaii, Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Austria, and Alaska. -

Joe Clinton '79 honored with a Distinguished Service Award
Coach Joe Clinton '79 will be honored in April with a Distinguished Service Award from the Met Basketball Writers Association. At Dominican University, Joe just concluded his 33rd season as Head Men's Basketball Coach of the Chargers and has been Director of Athletics since 1989. -

Tricia Reilly-Matthews, '78
Tricia Reilly-Matthews, ’78, ‘Angels Among Us’ mural was one of two winners of the MetLife Workforce Mural contest. The contest invited aspiring artists to submit artwork celebrating the area’s vital workforce amid the pandemic. The two winning art designs are featured as large-scale murals that are now on display at MetLife Stadium. -

Jim Parker, '77, recently celebrated his 40 year service anniversary with IBM. Jim currently lives in Sandy Hook, CT with his wife Marie and two sons. -
Glory Days
On March 20th, over 40 alums gathered virtually for the first alumni Glory Days event. The 1976-77 basketball team and their many fans reminisced with Coach Tom Collins ‘64, sportswriter Bill Varner and discussion moderator Greg Golden, ’78. -
Charlie Samoylo, '71
After living in Rockland for over 60+ years, and Nanuet for 28+ years, Charlie, his wife Ellen, and their dog, Mr. Gibbs, will be moving to Cold Spring, NY. Though they will miss Rockland it was decided by Charlie and Ellen to start a new journey by downsizing their home and moving to a new location.
Cold Spring is a beautiful quaint town and as a member of the Knight of Columbus there are plenty of opportunities for Charlie and Ellen to branch out and support their causes. Charlie thanks Albertus Magnus High School for giving him the opportunity for a good education that launched his future endeavors.

Carol Lesica Conklin-Spillane, '76
Carol Conklin-Spillane was selected as the National Association of Secondary School Principals Distinguished Service to Education Award winner for her commitment to improving and strengthening education. Recently completing a three-year tenure as superintendent of Pocantico Schools, Conklin-Spillane gained national acclaim during her 22 years as principal at Sleepy Hollow High School. While achievement remained high, Carol prided her school environment as being a place that fosters generosity, acceptance, diversity, and a collegial professional atmosphere. Under Conklin-Spillane’s leadership, Sleepy Hollow High School was identified as a Breakthrough School by NASSP in 2014 and as a School of Opportunity by the National Education Policy Center in 2015. Timothy A. O'Connor (Class of '16) graduated from Cornell University on December 21, 2019 with a B.S. in Atmospheric Science and Distinction in Research. His senior honors research project on the relationship between the polar vortex and cold-air outbreaks in the atmosphere was supervised by Professor Stephen J. Colucci (Class of '72). -

Rick Cabrera, '94
Congratulations to Rick Cabrera, '94, on being named to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles All-Century Team. Rick is entering his second season as the Men's Basketball Head Coach at Tallahassee Community College.
"My dad and high school coach had the biggest impact on me. Coach McGuinness played for coach K (Mike Krzyzewski of Duke) at Army. He was 31 years old, but he was sharp. When I played for him, I was like I want to be just like him," Cabrera said.

Jen Wassmer, '90!
In early July Jen Wassmer, Art Teacher at Albertus Magnus High School was notified by the New York State Art Teacher Association that she was chosen to be the New York State Art Teacher of the Year for High School for Region 7 which includes Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties. She was nominated by Peggy O'Hara (Clarkstown Art Teacher/Retire) and Maria Brownsell (E. Ramapo Art Teacher/Former Albertus Art Teacher). She will be recognized at the state conference in Binghamton in November 2023. -
Update from Rick Cabrera ’94
Arkansas State head men’s basketball coach Mike Balado has announced the hire of Rick Cabrera ’94 as an assistant coach on his staff. Cabrera comes to A-State after two seasons as an assistant coach at Austin Peay. In those two seasons, the Governors posted a 41-26 record and made one of the NCAA’s largest defensive turnarounds in 2017-18. Austin Peay went from allowing 83.8 points per game in 2016-17 to 71.2 points per game in 2017-18, the second-largest drop in points per game nationally.

The First Salute Tradition shared between two Class of 2004 Albertus Graduates
The First Salute is an old tradition for US Service Branches in which newly commissioned officers give a silver dollar to the person from whom they receive the very first salute of their career. On December 4, 2020, Thomas Albrecht, 04, graduated from Navy Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. On December 6, 2020, at Piermont Pier, NY, Ensign Thomas Albrecht, ’04, US Navy, received his First Salute from Staff Sergeant Michael Rubino, ’04, US Army.Congratulations to Ensign Albrecht and Staff Sergeant Rubino! Casey Bischoff, Class of 2016 and Sam Bischoff, Class of 2020
Casey Bischoff, Albertus Magnus Alumni Class of 2016, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Seton Hall University with a B.S. in Diplomacy & International Relations and a B.A. in Economics, while minoring in Arabic and Military Science. She was honored as a Distinguished Military Graduate (top 20% of ROTC Cadets in the Nation) and received the General George C. Marshall Award and Cadet of the Year Award for Pirate Battalion. Casey commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army.
Sam Bischoff, Albertus Magnus Class of 2020, is off to Campbell University where she will play D1 Lacrosse and major in Education.

Matthew Quinones, '17
Matthew Quinones, '17, graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) in 2021 with his B.S. in Sport Management Studies, while also receiving the Gold Key Service Award. Matthew just finished his first year of Grad School at STAC, where he is studying Business Management and is expected to graduate with his MBA in 2023. Matthew has been honored to sing the Star Spangled Banner at the 2021 STAC Graduation, STAC President Ken Daly's Inauguration, and the STAC Annual Alumni Hall of Fame & Reunion Celebration. Matthew is currently working at STAC in the Office of Student Engagement while continuing his studies. Matthew would also like to shout out his girlfriend Victoria Rooney, '18, for being Pace University's Valedictorian! -

Niles Davies, '17
Niles Davies, '17, graduated from Binghamton University 2021 Summa Cum Laude with his BA in Psychology and a minor in Health and Wellness. He was a member of the Harpur’s Ferry Ambulance all 4 years and an RA his last 2 years on campus. Over the summer, Niles attended RCC and completed the necessary pre-requisite classes in order to be able to apply to accelerated nursing programs. We are excited to announce that he will be attending the 15-month Accelerated Nursing Program at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing this coming January 2022!
