Falcon Cup Award

The Falcon Cup Award is presented in recognition of outstanding service and dedication to Albertus Magnus High School. This prestigious honor is awarded to individuals who exemplify the values of leadership, commitment, and selfless contribution to the school community. Recipients of the Falcon Cup have demonstrated a profound impact through their volunteerism, mentorship, and efforts to enhance the spirit and mission of Albertus Magnus. Their dedication serves as an inspiration to others, embodying the true essence of the Falcon spirit—to LEAD, SERVE and INSPIRE.

  • Michael McAndrew

    Michael has been a teacher at Albertus for over 25 years, starting in the year 2000.  During his time here, Mike has taught just about every class that the Albertus Social Studies Department has to offer from grades 9-12, including AP US History and College Level Politics & Government.  He has also coached Soccer, Softball and Track & Field at Albertus.  Since 2009 Mike has served as Chair of the highly successful Social Studies Department.
  • Noreen Power

    Noreen has been a vital member of Albertus for over 25 years. Starting in the front office in 1999, Noreen took the role of Director of Admissions in 2008, transforming our school's admission process into the best among a highly competitive group of Catholic and Private Schools in our Tri-State area. Noreen has been one of the chief ambassadors for Albertus as the first to meet future Falcons at Open Houses and local elementary school visits. Her impact is demonstrated in the caliber of students that have become Falcons in her tenure. Noreen, along with her husband Chris, our current Assistant Head of School, are proud parents to three successful AM graduates, Tricia, ’05, Maura, ’09, and Colleen, ’12.
  • John McNiff

    John was a linchpin on one of the greatest sports teams Albertus and Rockland County have ever known – the 1974 State Champion Cross Country “Long Red Line”. John has led the Falcon Spiked Shoe Club, a group for cross country and track and field alumni, for over 20 years. He is also a member of the Albertus Hall of Fame Committee and an Executive Board Member of the AMHSAA.
  • Joe Sarvis

    Joe is the founder and owner of Sarvis Tree Service. Joe has devoted countless hours of service and expertise to enhance the landscaping and broader physical plant of the Albertus campus.
 
 

Recent Recipients

  • Jimmy Peters '71: An assistant coach for the girls' soccer team for 20 years, leading them to four Final Four appearances and securing a New York State Championship in 2022. He retired from coaching after the 2023 season.
  • Mike Mulderrig: A dedicated assistant coach for the boys' varsity basketball team for over two decades, contributing significantly to the program's success.
  • Mr. Thomas Downes, Jr.: Recognized for his significant contributions to the school and his leadership of the Golf Classic.
  • Mrs. Yolanda Dandridge: Served on the AM Board of Directors and led multiple committees to serve the AM community.
  • Coach John DeJulia '80: Honored for his dedication and service to for 25 years of coaching the golf team.
  • Mr. Chris Cooney: Honored for his many years of service to the athletic department of Albertus and volunteer service to maintain the AM facilities.
  • The AM Parent Association Officers: The AMPA is led by dedicated officers and committee chairpersons who organize various events and initiatives throughout the school year.
    • Brian Metcalf '87: AMHS Officer and parent of alumni and current student from the classes of '19, '22, '23, and '25.
    • Jen Bricker: AMHS Officer, Chair of Pocketbook Bingo and parent of alumni and current student from the classes of '20, '22, '24 and ‘28
    • Mary Kate O'Callaghan: Parent of alumni and current students from the classes of '21, '23, and '26.
