Clubs & Activities

Clubs and activities at AM are student led, therefore there are new offerings each school year! Students are encouraged to discover their passions and have opportunities to Lead, Serve and Inspire. 
 
ART CLUB: Art Club focuses on a variety of projects and allows students to find their voice through studio work, 2D and 3D design, drawing and painting.
 
AUDIO VISUAL CLUB: The AV club helps school with audio and visual equipment for events including Mass, Pep Rallies, Retreats and more.
 
BEAUTIFY AM: The Beautify AM club keeps our cAMpus as an inspiration to all. Past projects have included The Jimmy Place bench, The McKenna Memorial, the Prayer/Rock Garden and decorating each season.
 
BUILDING BRIDGES: Building Bridges seeks to increase cultural awareness of students of color and celebrate diversity through open discussion meetings, cultural trips, guest speakers and unique community service opportunities.

BUSINESS CLUB: Business Club is for students who are interested in the Business Academic Pathway and want to learn more about entrepreneurship, marketing, communications and more. 

CHESS CLUB: Chess Club is for students who want to improve their Chess skills through matches.
 
COOKING CLUB: Cooking Club is for students who enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, they hold Bake sales throughout the year.
 
ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB: The Environmental Club works to be more eco-conscious of our community. Students think of ways for a more sustainable Albertus.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF THE EUCHARIST: This program is for students in their Junior year. If you would like to be mandated as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, see Sr. Diane McSherry O.P. '78, Director of Campus Ministry, for qualifications and requirements. 

FALCON AMBASSADORS: Falcon Ambassadors are students in their Sophomore year who assist the Admissions office with Open House, Falcon for a Day experiences, school tours and more.  Students apply at the end of Freshman year for this program. 

FALCONS FOR LIFE: In his 2015 landmark encyclical, Laudato Sí , Pope Francis invited the worldwide community of Catholics to join with others urging us to respond to the cry of Earth and the cry of the poor. The Pope addressed his invitation to "every person living on this planet," initiating an inclusive dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet. Now celebrating the 10th year of Laudato Si, Falcons for Life supports "Care of Creation" with a diaper drive (babies & their mothers) with Birthright of Nanuet, food drives to assist with food insecurity and other endeavors that care of all creation. 
 
FUTURE HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS: The Future Health Care Professionals club is for students aspiring to have a career in the medical field such as Doctor, DO, PA, Nurse and Physical Therapist. Future Health Care Professionals also fundraise for local medical charities and host events like the annual Blood Drive with NYBC (New York Blood Center).
 
GAMES CLUB: This club is for students who are interested in table and video games.
 
GOLD HEARTED GIRLS: This club is designed to help women in need such as Days for Girls and supporting the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, our founders. 
 
GOLF CLUB: Golf Club is for golf enthusiasts who want to improve their skills all year long. Group meets at the driving range and in non-competitive play.
 
KINDNESS CLUB: An act of kindness can go a long way! This club helps spread love throughout the Albertus Magnus community. Members decide on monthly themes, community service, discussions and school wide activities.
 
MATH LEAGUE: Are you a Mathlete and like competition? Students are able to demonstrate their problem-solving skills and compete in tournaments.
 
MOCK TRIAL: Looking for a future in law? The Mock Trial club competitions are sponsored by the NY State Bar Association and involve teams from high schools throughout Rockland County. The teams argue both sides of a virtual court case throughout the year in Clarkstown Town Court. Local Rockland lawyers act as judges and preside over the trials.
 
MORGAN’S MESSAGE: In memory of Morgan, an amazing lacrosse player who passed at the young age of 22. Although her life was cut way too short, Morgan’s legacy of hard work and unconditional love remains. This club is a forum for athletes to talk with each other and be supported by their peers, whether they are playing, off the field due to injury or not playing at this time.
 
OPERATION SMILE: This club fundraises for Operation Smile to support operations correcting cleft lip and cleft palate. It is estimated that, worldwide, a child is born every 3 minutes with a cleft condition, about one in every 500 to 750 births. Change lives with us, one smile at a time!

PEER MENTORS: Peer Mentors are students in their Junior and Senior year who offer encouragement, motivation, and a safe space for Freshmen mentees.  Meeting a few times a year, this group helps Freshmen transition to high school and Albertus Magnus. 

PREACHING TEAM: This group assists Sr. Diane McSherry O.P. '78, Director of Campus Ministry, with school Masses, Holy Days and other endeavors. 

SPRING MUSICAL/STAGE CREW: Whether you audition for a part in the musical or work behind the scenes on stage crew, you’ll find teamwork and camaraderie here.
 
STUDENT THEATER ALLIANCE: This club of actors, writers and stage crew work together for a Fall performance, entirely student-run. It’s original and creative!
 
STUDENT COUNCIL: Student Council members are elected by their classmates. Seniors are elected President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen elect a Class Director and 3 representatives.
 
THE ALBERT LITERARY MAGAZINE: Now digital, the Albert Literary Magazine is an award winning publication with prose, poetry, art, photography, a podcast and more. To read: www.thealbert.org
 
THE GAUNTLET YEARBOOK: Help make memories that last a lifetime by working on the yearbook! Talents needed are photography, graphic design, creativity and organization. 

TRANSFER TRANSITION PROGRAM This group of students, who are Transfer students themselves, can help new students acclimate to Albertus Magnus whether they transferred in Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior year.  
 
VERITAS HONORS CHOIR: By audition only, this talented group of singers perform at Masses, school events, community events and more, including Radio City Music Hall and Yankee Stadium!
