Jimmy Peters '71

Jimmy Peters was an Assistant Coach with Girls Soccer for 20 years, with 4 Final Four appearances, and 1 NYS Championship (2022). He is retiring from AM coaching after the 2023 season. Jimmy told us, "It was a privilege to coach these girls, and to give back to two things that mean so much to me, Albertus Magnus and soccer."

 

Jim has been a resident of Nanuet for over 60 years, Class of 71 graduate of AMHS. He told us, "My four years at Albertus are still a large part of my DNA. I met my wife, Donna (71), and we sent our 3 kids to AM; Jimmy (02), Suzie (05), Kevin (07)." Both Jim and his wife Donna were inducted into AM Hall of Fame in 2008.

 

While at AM, Jim played Soccer 4 years, Baseball 3 years, Track 1 year. Senior year he was Captain / MVP of the AM soccer team and was the recipient of the Robert J Ahrens Award.

 

Jim attended Fredonia State University and graduated with Business Major & Minor in Economics. At Fredonia, he played collegiate soccer for 4 years, and his team finished 5th in nation NAIA, in 1972, and he was inducted into Fredonia Hall of Fame

 

Jim and Donna can be found on the beach or golf course in Sunset Beach NC. We are grateful for his service to Albertus and wish him well in his retirement.
