Mrs. Costello and Mrs. Borges, along with twelve students from Albertus Magnus High School, were blessed to be part of a wonderful Service Outreach Week (SOW).
This program, run through Fr. Erik and the Capuchin Family Ministries gave our students opportunities to serve the poor and marginalized in several ministries. Our students spent their week visiting the elderly in nursing homes, serving the homeless, and building, assembling and delivering bunkbeds for children in need. In addition to our service work, we all had an opportunity to grow in our faith through time spent in prayer and reflection inspired by the gospel message and the lives of the saints.
We are grateful to Sr. Diane, Director of Campus Ministry, for her encouragement and to the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill for their financial support. All our participants truly experienced what it means to live by the Four Dominican Pillars of Prayer, Study, Community, and Service.
